Questions & answers
Get to know AudioVista.
A few things to know before your first listen.
Do I need an account to start?
No. Open the app, allow location access, and start listening. Listening at your phone’s physical location is always free, with no sign-up required.
Can I use it wherever I go?
AudioVista is built around your location, rather than a fixed tour route. Take it to a new city, a small town, or your own neighborhood. The amount of local detail depends on the information available for that place.
Do I have to keep moving?
No. Linger in one place and listen, or let the surroundings change as you walk or ride. You set the pace.
Does it need an internet connection?
Yes. Keep your phone connected to the internet and allow location access so AudioVista can bring you narration about the places around you.
Where does AudioVista’s information come from?
AudioVista draws on real online sources for information about places, landmarks, history, and local businesses. AI turns that information into spoken descriptions and stories, shaped around where you are and what you want to explore.
AI narration can make mistakes, and online information can change. Confirm practical details such as opening hours, prices, and access with the venue before making plans.
How do I pause narration?
Tap once to pause, then tap again to resume. You no longer need two taps to pause narration.
What is AudioVista Places?
AudioVista Places lets hosts publish on-demand audio for restaurants, museums, attractions, and other locations. Select a nearby place’s content to hear its saved audio. AudioVista Showtime is for synchronized description of films and timed performances; AudioVista Live connects you with a host speaking now.

Is the information independent, or is it paid promotion?
AudioVista’s default information is free and impartial, with your interests as a traveler or explorer in mind. A place or business is included because it is relevant to your surroundings, not because someone paid for product or service placement.
Any exception involving paid or sponsored placement is clearly identified. Undisclosed paid promotion is not part of the default experience.
What can I do with the AudioVista app?
Listen to the stories of nearby buildings, landmarks, and neighborhoods. Stay in one place and get to know it, or keep listening as you walk or ride. Download AudioVista for iPhone or Android to take it with you.
Is AudioVista free?
Listening at your phone’s physical location is always free, wherever you go, with no account required. One optional Pro subscription includes both Explore the World, for taking a virtual trip to another place, and Describe Live, for spoken descriptions of what your camera sees. Both features are included in the same subscription. Current pricing and subscription terms appear in the app before purchase.
